Upper School
Curriculum
The International School of Estonia has been authorised to
offer the IB Diploma Programme of the International
Baccalaureate,
since May, 2003.
The IB Diploma programme is designed for students from ages
16 to 19 years of age. It incorporates the best elements of
a variety of curricula from around the world. It is designed
as a two-year comprehensive curriculum that allows graduates
to fulfill the requirements of a variety of national
education systems.
The Curriculum
Six subject groups form the basis of the IB Diploma
Programme. They are:
Group 1 - Language A1 - students' first language
Group 2 - Language B - a second language
Group 3 - Individuals and Societies
Group 4 - Experimental Sciences
Group 5 - Mathematics and Computer Science
Group 6 - The Arts
These six subject groups surround the "core" of the IB
Diploma Programme, which includes the Extended Essay, Theory
of Knowledge and the CAS programme (Creativity, Action and
Service).
Currently, as ISE, we offer the following subject choices
for each group:
Group 1 - English,
German, Polish
Group 2 - French, German, English
Group 3 - History
Group 4 - Chemistry
Group 5 - Math
Group 6 - Art, Music
